Forecasting the Tech Year Ahead

Last week we reviewed the biggest stories in tech, both globally and for Plum.  2011 was a banner year for us here at Plum (with our new Floodlight product rollout and improvements to both our hosted and onsite IVR applications), and in the tech world at large.  While it is difficult to forecast exactly how 2012 will play out, there are many promising developments looming on the horizon for both Plum and the tech world at large.

At Plum, we have rolled out a whole new brand, complete with individualized product offerings, for the past two years.  In 2010, we introduced QuickFuse, our visual voice application builder that allows anyone to build IVR applications online and within minutes.  This program enabled users of all types to author and control their applications through a voice application editor.  The introduction of QuickFuse meant that IVR was available to everyone from the smallest, one-person business to enterprise level corporations at a reasonable price point.

2011 brought with it the introduction of our Floodlight brand.  With Floodlight surveys, users are able to build one survey and distribute it over the web, the phone, or their mobile device.  Data analysis for all survey responses, regardless of the medium it was administered, is available for analysis in one simple interface.  The Plum team combined their expertise in IVR, telephony, and even social media to build a product that would reach respondents utilizing a number of technologies, and offer effective, user-friendly data analysis tools that would allow survey administrators accessible, easy to interpret data.

So what does 2012 hold in the cards for Plum’s IVR platform and systems?  We have many products and tools that are currently in development that will help streamline and improve the user experience, regardless of whether a client or company is using hosted or onsite IVR.

However, we at Plum, like many in the tech community would like to tailor our products to match our customer’s interests and needs.  Pursuant to this, Plum is like many other companies and individuals waiting to see what exactly 2012 has in store for the tech space.  In order to maximize usability and convenience for our customers, we will stay abreast of all developments on the tech horizon.
