Flash Player

The Adobe Flash Player is software that is used for viewing animated graphics (on websites) and movies (embedded in to websites) using computer programs like web browsers. The Flash Player runs SWF (pronounced swif) files that are created using a Flash authoring tool. Flash is both the authoring program and the multimedia player included in various web browsers. Adobe Flash is where the multimedia is authored and the Flash Player is programmed by which said multimedia is run. Flash Player is coded in an embedded scripting language called ActionScript (AS) which is modeled after ECMAScript. Originally designed to display vector animation, the Flash Player has been upgraded with the capablities of both playing and creating Internet applications that contain both streaming video and audio, and is available as a plug-in In a variety of web browsers.
