from the Plum Voice IVR Glossary
In an IVR application, text prompts help to describe and dictate the functionality of a text field. A text prompt allows coders to add functionality to their application and its main purpose is to dictate whether a prompt should be visible or not. There are several commands a text prompt can be programmed to enact. The always command defines whether the prompt is displayed, regardless of whether the text field has focus. The Focus_Gained prompt is displayed when the text field has gained focus, and the Focus_Lost field displayed within the text field loses focus. The SetShowPromptOnce will allow the prompt to be displayed only once.
