Voice Recognition

Voice Recognition

Often confused with speech recognition, voice recognition actually refers to the identification and recognition of a unique user based on their individualized voice print. the difference between speech recognition and voice recognition is that speech recognition technology enables an application to understand and process words being said by an unspecified individual. Voice, or speaker recognition enables an application to recognize who is speaking. Voice recognition technology functions through the use of voice biometrics, which are mathematical equations that model the anatomical and learned behavioral patterns of a certain individual to produce a specific voiceprint. Utterances are then compared with the pre-recorded voice template to achieve speaker verification. Often times voice recognition technology is utilized in IVR systems that require a very high level of security.
