The <property> element sets a property value, and is used to define any setting which impacts the behavior of the application Typically in VoiceXML (VXML) programming language, a property is intermediate between a field and a method. Properties are used to set values that affect platform behavior, such as the recognition process, timeouts, and caching policy. Properties can be set to encompass the entire application, or used to define a specific form item. The <property> element has two attributes: the name, which indicates the name of the global property and the value, which indicates the value of a property. Other global properties include interdigittimeout, bargein, and termchar.
