Incompletetimeout

Incompletetimeout

The required length of silence following user speech after which a recognizer finalizes a result. The minimum value for incompletetimeout is 500ms. The incompletetimeout property gets or sets the duration of silence at the end of an utterance, after which a recognition is considered finished. In a VXML IVR application, a user is allotted a specified amount of time to speak a command. If the user does not say anything within this fixed time period, then an incompletetimeout will occur and return a to the user. When a user begins to speak a command, the application waits for 5 seconds due to incompletetimeout. Once the allotted amount of time has passed, the application returns a response to the user.
