Sensitivity

The sensitivity level in a VXML application is an element that is used by ASR (automatic speech recognition engines) to detect a decibel of sound. A value of 1.0 means that the application is highly sensitive to quiet input. A value of 0.0 means the application is least sensitive to noise. The value is a real number designation, and the default value for VXML applications is 0.5. Setting the sensitivity level to a low setting helps in environments where there is a lot of background noise. However, by setting the sensitivity to a low setting, there is also a small risk of the application missing some of the incoming speech.
